It was a gorgeous morning to get out and take some photographs of the new snow. I especially love to photograph Lumpy Ridge in Rocky Mountain National Park. It is only about a 2 minute drive from our home and so spectacular!

These are the rocks where Tommy Caldwell, who recently climbed the Dawn Wall at El Capitan in Yosemite, first learned to climb. Very impressive! Estes Park is so proud of him!!

This Checkerspot butterfly was lazing along Black Canyon Trail on Lumpy Ridge in Rocky Mountain National Park. He’d fly a few feet and then set down and they fly a few feet and then set down….

He seemed to be very content with the little pebbles along the trail.

Whenever I see a Pasqueflower I notice a little bit of white in the center. It almost looks like a little bit of cotton that fell atop of the pistils and stamens.

When I took a macro photograph of just the center of the Pasqueflower out on Black Canyon Trail in Rocky Mountain National Park, it was magnificent! What do you think?

This tiny, little pink Storkbill wildflower is starting to bloom all over Estes Park and Rocky Mountain National Park.

They are very small and grow very close to the ground. Have you ever seen a Storkbill wildflower? We saw a lot of them on Black Canyon Trail on Lumpy Ridge in Rocky Mountain National Park.
