Beautiful Western Tiger Swallowtail Butterfly In My Yard In Estes Park

This pretty, yellow and black Western Tiger Swallowtail was feeding on the Catmint wildflowers in my yard. It’s the first one that I’ve seen this summer.

Beautiful butterfly, don’t you think? Love the orange and blue spots on its tail!

Gorgeous Black And White Weidemeyer’s Admiral Butterfly At Lily Lake In RMNP

I was at Lily Lake in Rocky Mountain National Park the other day waiting for a beautiful Red Admiral butterfly to open its wings so I could get a good photograph of it. When, along flew this gorgeous black and white Weidemeyer’s Admiral butterfly and landed on the rock right next to it. How lucky is that?

This Weidemeyer’s Admiral butterfly was very accommodating with his wings open the entire time.

Gorgeous, isn’t it? Can you see the little red spots near the bottom edge?

Boiduval’s Blue Butterfly In Rocky Mountain National Park

I chased this Boiduval’s Blue butterfly in Rocky Mountain National Park until it alighted on a Daisy. I was able to get photographs of its outside coloring and underneath coloring. They are both so different.
