I was so surprised to see so many elk up on the tundra already this summer. However, it’s been hot so they probably want to get up to the tundra where it’s cooler.

We were drivingĀ up Trail Ridge Road when I saw this mother and baby elk. The little one was nursing from its mom. To get up to the tundra, that little one must’ve walked a long, long way. Wow!

I took a few photographs…they were so cute. Isn’t that little one just adorable?

Absolutely adorable, Mel! Love the ones that look as though they were taken on the edge of a wooded precipice.

A timeless photograph. Thank you, Mel.
