Phil and I went back to Lily Lake in Rocky Mountain National Park yesterday to see if we could spot the moose again but didn’t see him. But, as we were hiking around, we saw something very interesting.

On the side of the lake by the trail was a felled Aspen tree chopped down by a beaver. It was not there on Sunday when we were there. I didn’t know that there were beavers at Lily Lake.

As we got almost back to the beginning of the trail we saw something swimming in the water. We got our cameras out and clicked away. Was it the same beaver that chopped down that Aspen tree?

This one matches one of my treasured ones that I took here in Plymouth. Always impressed by the wake these little furry ones generate.

I don’t know what I enjoyed more: the photos or your unbridled enthusiasm for nature! Thanks, Mel.
