I was so surprised the other day when I saw a little Richardson’s Ground Squirrel scurry by while I was on the Lake Estes Trail. I got a couple of photographs of him hiding in the tall grass, but nothing to write home about.

But, it was my first of the season which is a big treat! I didn’t see any others anywhere on my walk that day. So, here he is. You can see just his little head…and only if you look hard! Ha!
