Those adorable, littleĀ Marmots in Estes Park and Rocky Mountain National Park usually come out of hibernation sometime in March. It is always such a treat to see them or just hear their familiar chirp.
This is one of the little guys that I always see on my walk home from town. He sits on this rock and looks at me…sometimes he’ll even stand up and look around.
Cute little guy, huh? I can’t wait to see them all again this spring!

What a stunning portrait of this superb, inquisitive and fur coated little treasure.
Handsome little devil! (I think he has relatives back East in Kia Soul commercials!) lol :’)
They are just so sweet–I really want to rub their bellies, but would never get that close. I have seen a lot of them up at Rock Cut also.
