Yesterday was one of those glorious days in Rocky Mountain National Park. We thought Gem Lake Trail might be a good idea. It was early and there was only a couple of other hikers on the trail.

About half way up we saw this little Mule Deer right next to the trail. We stopped and got our cameras out and clicked away. This little guy was only about 10 feet from me. He was so cute. His mom was around the rock on the left…just in case. I wasn’t going to move.

As I was photographing the little Mule Deer, Phil was taking photographs of me. You can see how close I am.

After a bit, the little one ran to his mother. I caught this shot as they both turned to look at me.

I know I posted a blog a short while ago about a Mule Deer, but I thought this was such a neat experience. I just had to share it with you.

Bless you, Mel, for the priceless photographs of these adorable creatures. The baby is a “Teddy Bear”, or should I say Teddy Fawn, and Mom a most aristocratic Grande Dame.
