Last summer when we were up on the tundra in Rocky Mountain National Park, we saw this little chipmunk playing on the rocks near Trail Ridge Road. He was just adorable. We seem to see more ground squirrels than chipmunks, so this was a treat. He was so tiny!

I loved these two photographs. The first one shows the little chipmunk standing up on the rock looking out over the tundra. And the second photograph shows the scope and vastness of the tundra with the little chipmunk just a blip in the picture.

Cute, isn’t he?

What splendid light and what an adorable portrait against a superb background.
