A Sparrow In Estes Park!

I saw this bird while walking home from town in September. At first I thought it was a Pine Siskin, but it looked a little too large and the tail feathers are a bit too long.

In looking¬†through¬†my Sibley’s, it looks like a Sparrow…but what kind? I haven’t mastered all of the Sparrow species. They all look so similar to me.

Does anyone know what kind of Sparrow this is? Thanks!

What a stunning Photograph, Mel! I was on the verge of holding out some grain in my opened hand as I was certain that he would be coming out of the photo to get it, any minute.
