In the past 12 days, we’ve had 4 snowstorms that have dropped at least 3-8″ each here in Estes Park. Within a few hours, it is all melted and we once again think spring is here. Phil and I hadn’t been up to Bear Lake in a while so we decided to drive through the park and see how much snow there really is. There are many snow patches along the lower terrain of the park but as you go up in elevation, the snow definitely increases. We got up to Bear Lake where it is still “snowshoe” weather and took this picture of Hallet Peak and Flattop Mountain with Tyndall Glacier in the center. You can see just how much snow there is on top of the taller peaks. It is so pretty…even when spring is supposed to be just around the corner!
