The sunrises this time of year here in Estes Park and Rocky Mountain National Park are incredible! You never know what to expect. And your window of opportunity to take a photograph is only a couple of minutes, sometimes less than that. The sky changes so quickly.
I took this photograph the first morning after Daylight Savings Time changed. We were up pretty early that morning and the clouds looked just right. I sat there and waited to see what would happen…
This sunrise was going to be special. What a way to wake up and see this gorgeous sunrise right outside your window looking at Old Man Mountain. Wow! I love the pink coloring in the sky and clouds.

Mel, I just got back to New Orleans Sat after 2 days hiking in RMNP. I saw a couple of similar mornings but not like this. The weather and hikes were beautiful. My daughter took over 1000 pictures in just 2 days!! Can’t wait to get back again. Hopefully it won’t take another 15 years. You’s soo lucky to live there!!
