There was a huge herd of Mule Deer on the way into Rocky Mountain National Park The other day. Usually we see maybe 4-6 in a herd, but this┬áherd had 28 Mule Deer! Wow! I’d never seen one so large.

It was a stunning photograph with the snow-capped mountain peaks of Taylor, Otis and Hallett in the background.

Beautiful, don’t you think?

Stunning! I can imagine how moving it must have been, in the flesh, both as scenery and in herd size.

When the poetry of your photos mutes, the words of Aldo Leopold’s ‘A Sand Countryl Alamanac’ provides pleasant musings.
