I had been following this one Spotted Sandpiper at Lake Estes, looking for a good photograph. He landed on the little island which sometimes comes up by the bridge. He was just pecking around, looking for food.
All of a sudden this other Spotted Sandpiper came along and started chasing him. They flew to the shore by the golf course and chased each other around for quite a while.
I got these photographs of the two of them arguing with each other. I think they are just classic! Is it the Mom with a chick? I have no idea, but I love the photographs. There are so many little “quotes” you could put with each one, huh?
A stunning photograph. Love the blue shadows. Does rather look like the riot act by the
dominant one.
