A great big THANK YOU to Ann and Steve of Colorado Homestead in Estes Park for the beautiful “typewriter key” necklace. It is just striking!
I had been commenting on how attractive and unique each necklace and bracelet is…when at the TGIF last night at Hunter’s Chop House, they presented me with this one-of-a-kind necklace! Steve gets old typewriters and uses the keys to make very unusual jewelry (necklaces, bracelets, cuff links, etc.). The typewriter keys are from a 1936 Smith Corona and the number 10 is from a National Cash Register 1918.
Some are already made with fun sayings on them or they can be ordered (depending on the availability of the letters). They are just stunning! I wore my new necklace today and it certainly is a conversation piece! So, a great big thanks to Colorado Homestead.

As long as the typewriters you are cutting keys off are in non-working condition that’s fine, its when people destroy working beautiful vintage machines, is just WRONG!!!!
We agree with you about destroying vintage machines. We have seen the typewriters used in this type of jewelry with this particular business and the are beat up, unusable and would take a lot of effort and time to restore these typewriters.
